Everything you could ever need

At Kingfishers Care Home we are able to offer a home away from home for our residents, while ensuring their care and personal needs are met too. A home is a place to feel cared for, loved and comfortable so that is what we strive for.

A home away from home

We work hard to create a peaceful atmosphere throughout our home.

Freedom and privacy are important to us and so we ensure that residents are able to enjoy spending time in their bedrooms and they aren’t just a place to sleep. We provide a variety of room types, with ensuite and wet rooms, for our residents to choose from.

At Kingfishers we also provide a wireless internet connection for residents and their visitors – connectivity and communication is a great way for our residents to feel thought of and part of the modern world.

Familiar surroundings

All of our rooms are fully furnished, however many of our residents bring their own furniture from home, along with ornaments and family photographs so that their bedroom feels as homely as possible, as quickly as possible.

Bigger pieces of furniture can also be brought in so that our residents’ bedrooms really do feel like home. Kingfishers is comfortable and warm, but nothing compares to your own belongings.

Continuity of care and surroundings can be so helpful to people living with dementia or memory impairment and furniture and belongings are just one of the ways we provide comfort and reassurance to our residents.

Our care facilities

Friendly environment

Our communal areas are key to companionship, friendship and socialising. Whether our residents’ loved ones join them for a drink in our library or lounge with french doors leading to the garden, we have ample space for everyone to enjoy.

While we encourage our residents to get out and about as much as possible, this is not always easy to achieve if someone has mobility issues or is living with dementia, so we do our utmost to bring the outside world to them.

At Kingfishers we have:

  • A wheelchair accessible vehicle
  • A manicured, mobility-friendly courtyard garden
  • Hair salon
  • Library
  • A mix of ensuite and wet room bedrooms
  • Wash rooms
  • Multiple lounges

Enjoying the outside

We are blessed with peaceful surroundings at Kingfishers, and our outside area has been made accessible for residents and their visitors. We welcome residents to plant and tend the garden themselves, as this provides them with a lovely bit of gentle exercise, a sense of purpose and encourages them to get out in the fresh air.

Spending time outside is so valuable for both our physical and mental health. This space will always be available to our residents and we welcome guests to enjoy this too.

A garden can be a great way for our residents to maintain their sense of self as often it is something that so many of them enjoyed doing in their younger and more active years.
